In the case of a loss-of-coolant accident (LOCA), the cables in nuclear power plants (NPPs) are subjected to especially high temperature, radiation and humidity. Vital connections for process control and monitoring may become severed, making parts of the instrumentation and control (I&C) of the NPP inoperable.

The LOCA-proof I&C Cable (ARENOPYR) can resist extreme loads, which may stem from severe LOCA and post-LOCA conditions. With this type of cable proven in practical testing various systems such as I&C and measurement can survive a severe LOCA. The cables are highly resistant against degeneration of the initial material properties and are suitable for harsh environmental conditions.
