In brief

AREVA GmbH is the main sponsor of the Erlangen Poet Festival once again

On the last weekend of August, Erlangen celebrates the opening of the German "Book Autumn". From 24th to 27th August, the town of Hugenotten will be the host for more than 80 writers, literary critics and publicists for the 37th Erlangen Poet Festival. For the 13th time, AREVA GmbH has supported the renowned cultural festival as its main sponsor.

Research Camp at AREVA GmbH, Erlangen

For the sixth time, AREVA GmbH opened the doors of its “Research Camp” to females aged between 16 and 18 with an interest in Mechanical Engineering. Twelve aspiring researchers from all over Bavaria dedicated themselves to science in their first week of the holidays. The central focus of every Research Camp is to solve a mission given by the respective companies: at AREVA GmbH it is the development of a control function to start an emergency power diesel generator. To gain the necessary theoretical background, the females attended lectures and laboratory tours at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg.

The Research Camps, in which Bavarian companies, colleges and universities participate, have took place since 2007. The main sponsor of this education initiative "Technology – Future in Bavaria 4.0" is the Bavarian Electrical and Metalworking Sector (bayme vbm), who engaged in the area for technical recruitment. The numerous projects aim to excite children and adolescents with a technical and scientific-related interest, particularly young females. The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology also promotes projects for girls and young women.
